What’s three times larger than the MCG? The new Jayco headquarters!

Set on 45 acres in Dandenong South with approximately 55,000sqm of under-roof workspace is the new and impressive environmentally friendly Jayco Headquarters. Comprising of a state of the art office complex and five separate dedicated factories it’s easy to see why Jayco is Australia’s largest caravan manufacturer in Australia.

Each of the five Jayco factories located within the one complex is dedicated to produce one particular brand within the Jayco product range from Motorhomes to Expandas to Caravans and Camper Trailers. As each factory is dedicated solely to one particular brand within the range production can be streamlined and ensure that each van produced is to the highest Jayco standard.

The new headquarters have been designed and built to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The vast landscaped frontage includes a lake that catches local runoff and a number of underwater tanks collect water to be used for bathrooms and to irrigate the surrounding gardens and grassed areas.

Within each factory lights are fitted with sensors that detect the level of ambient light. These energy saving lights automatically turn off when it is detected there is sufficient natural lighting in each factory.
What started out in its humble beginnings with eight employees in an old farm shed on Melbourne’s outskirts in 1975, to now employing 630 people Jayco is now the biggest manufacturer in the history of the Australian Recreational Vehicle industry.
