Motorhome Freedom, experienced internationally by Prestige staff!

When family affairs draw our staff interstate or even overseas, they still manage to opt for the freedom and adventures of caravanning or in the case of Kathy Newell- Accessories & Parts consultant- she decided to travel in the luxury of a motorhome-similar to that of our Jayco Optimum- to get a feel of what our clients could be lucky enough to experience.

Kathy and her husband Bruce began their one month holiday in Berlin on September 15th, where they hired a motorhome, travelling through Northern Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Along the way they stopped for some interesting food, including a Moose Burger which was quite salty and whale meat which they describe as a black, thin, steak-like meat, before visiting one of Germany’s notorious concentration camps, which Kathy said was very confronting- although they were glad they got to experience it.

Unfortunately they didn’t get to see the Princess Mary herself, but they did have a look around Copenhagen, the town Australian born Princess Mary now calls ‘home’, which was one of Kathy’s favourite places to visit. Kathy said it was a beautiful city, where cars were rarely seen as everyone generally got around by walking or bicycle riding. She also said Danish people are very friendly there.

But the major highlight of their trip would have to be seeing their son marry the love of his life in a beautiful ceremony in Bergen,Norway.
Overall, it was a fantastic trip. Kathy and Bruce loved the freedom the motorhome gave them, in the sense that they could stop where ever they wanted and had the comfort of knowing their accommodation was always ready when they were. If they were driving and saw a wonderful scenic view, they could set up camp for the night but had the option to keep going if they had enough.

If Kathy could give one piece of advice for future motorhome owners, it would be to take the trip very slowly, as they felt that one month just wasn’t enough.
